Obedience Training
Obedience training is a 2 week course that includes learning to heel, sit, down, stay, come, as well as entering and exiting doors without bolting. Problems such as house breaking, excessive chewing, jumping and biting will be addressed as needed. A private lesson with the pet owner upon completion of the training will be given to help reinforce the training. You will also go home with a Training Dictionary for a quick reference. As a gift to our clients, we provide an additional lesson (within 30 days of your last day of training) to come back and work on any specific problem area(s) that may need polishing.
Training includes an introduction to bark control, which addresses excessive barking, crate training, and a positive step towards housebreaking.
We use a combination of physical, loving praise, treats, and play to reward the dog. We accept most breeds. It is preferred that dogs over six months must be spayed or neutered; however is not a requirement for training. All dogs must be current on vaccinations, and dog friendly.

Boarding
Paula's Canine Academy offers a dog-friendly country home setting for boarding that provides a safe and comfortable place for your dog while you are away from home. Boarding dogs have access to a fenced front yard with a pulsating electric fence on top and bottom for their own safety. The kennels have both a/c and heat. Dogs are divided into 4 LARGE runs (by temperament and size) and have large commercial fans running 24/7 along with ample covered areas to rest with fresh, clean water. There is a back area that opens up to the large fenced in, wooded play area that can be roamed freely. Pet owners are welcome to call and check on their pet at any time during their stay. All dogs that that are boarding only over 6 months are required to be
spayed or neutered.
PRICING:
We pride ourselves on keeping our prices competitive and affordable. Effective September 1st, 2022, boarding will be $25 per night for all accepted dogs no matter the size.
